What Do You Give To Your Colleagues and Neighbors?
When you know them well enough then you might pick a gift that is along the line of their hobbies. Something like a football jersey if they are an avid football fan. If you have a colleague or neighbor who keeps complaining about something like their feet hurting all the time then you might get them some gel soles for their shoes.
Unless your coworker or neighbor is a teetotaler then you might consider a nice bottle of wine as a gift.
You may be tempted to recycle unwanted gifts from last year and if you chose to do so them remember these rules:
- Don't, don't give the gift back to the one who gave it to you; if you are not sure where the gift came from then just don't.
- One person's junk can indeed be another person's treasure. So, try to match the gift to the recipient.
Food gifts are something that can be more affordable. If you are afraid something more personal might cause a misunderstanding then a food gift might be the best choice for a coworker or neighbor. Good food gifts will work for both of the sexes and for the young and old alike.
Homemade cookies or candies make a great gift. This can be something inexpensive yet speak loudly to the receipient that you thought of them at Christmas. Put them in a nice Christmas tin and they will make them fit the season.
Hopefully these tips can make your Christmas shopping and gift giving a pleasure and allow you to really enjoy the actual Christmas season. |
